Pizza vending machines debut in Florida

Pizza

Now hungry consumers can get a hot and ready pizza in two minutes or less at pizza vending machines sprouting up in Florida.

Three machines are being tested in Lakeland, Florida, and Orlando, Bay News 9 reported. The machines, which are run by Pizza Touch, allow users to select the flavor of pizza they want, pay using a credit card and have the pizza cooked for them for as little as $6.

"You can't get a pizza that fast anywhere else, so it seems pretty convenient to me," Darrell Sutton, a gas station customer, told Bay News 9.

The machine has a touch screen that allows users to quickly order food and to choose from an assortment of different flavors. Customer Sunny Mutchler told Bay News 9 that his mushroom and red pepper pizza was "not bad," even though it "could (have used) a little more sauce."

"Some people think we need a little more sauce. Some people think we need a little more cheese," Pizza Touch spokesperson Jiselle Sandra told Bay News 9.

Pizza Touch officials told Bay News 9 that they plan to develop new versions of the machine to launch later this month, with 100 more machines becoming available to the public by the end of the month.
