3 killed in head-on crash near Kingston

KINGSTON, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol is investigating a head-on crash that killed three people on State Route 104 near Kingston.

Investigators said a 59-year-old woman driving a black Lexus crossed the centerline around 7 p.m. Wednesday and struck a red Ford Escort driven by a 44-year-old man.

The 59-year-old woman in the Lexus, the driver of the Escort and his 44-year-old female passenger all died at the scene of the crash.

Investigators said the impact was so severe it knocked both cars off the road.  Investigators don't know why the Lexus crossed the centerline.

People at the crash scene told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the woman driving the Lexus had just dropped off her granddaughter and was heading  home.

The victims were identified as Robin Bishop, 59, of Kingston, Anthony Adams, 44, of Kingston and Marion Sparks, 44, of Kingston.

SR104 was closed in both directions for nearly four hours Wednesday night while  troopers investigated.
