Teen shot as police break up party in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Wash. — Quick Facts:

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm after a party at a Des Moines four-plex.

Police said they were called to the 21600 block of 29th Avenue South about 10 p.m. Monday for a noise complaint.

Police said the group of people who were being loud dispersed after officers arrived.

About 11 p.m., officers were called back to the four-plex where about 100 people had gathered in the area.

While officers were breaking up the party, shots were fired.

Police found a 17-year-old boy with two gunshot wounds on his arm.  Officers said while the boy was being treated, more shots were heard.

Investigators said they don’t believe anyone else was hurt, but a car and an apartment were hit by gunfire.

The victim was transported to Harborview.
