Taylor Bridge Fire expected to be fully contained by next Wednesday

The Taylor Bridge Fire continues to burn Thursday morning, pushing back efforts to have the blaze fully contained into next week.

Crews now expect the fire to be completely contained by Wednesday, August 29th.

Firefighters now face a new problem - stubborn underground fires that continue to flare up.  Two hundred firefighters were sent home Wednesday, leaving

800 crews behind to continue containment efforts. The Taylor Bridge Fire has caused an estimated $8.3 Million in property damage with nearly 60 homes

destroyed. As of Monday night, the cost of fighting the fire was estimated at $7 million but officials said that number was expected to continue to rise.

There are no new evacuations and many people who live in the area have been allowed to return to their homes.
