Tacoma woman charged with vehicular homicide in Puyallup crash

PUYALLUP, Wash. — A Tacoma woman has been charged with vehicular homicide following a fatal crash in Puyallup.

that prosecutors say the 24-year-old woman was drunk when her truck crashed into a car and killed 46-year-old Jose Luiz Gonzalez-Olaguez.

Gonzalez-Olaguez was on his way home from work Monday when police say the woman ran a red light and slammed into his car. The force of the crash caused the front of Gonzalez-Olaguez's car to cave in.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say they found the woman still inside her truck and showing signs that she'd been drinking. Charging papers say she was unaware that anyone was injured and thought she collided with a parked car.
