SWAT team responds to domestic dispute in Gig Harbor

A fight between a man, his mother and his girlfriend ended in a SWAT standoff and arrest in Gig Harbor overnight Monday.

Pierce County deputies responded to a home on 86th Street Northwest near 72nd Avenue around 9 p.m. in regards to a man

threatening two women with a gun inside of a home. Once outside of the home, deputies met with the man's mother and live-in

girlfriend who were able to get out of the home unharmed. Deputies then ordered the man to peacefully come out and SWAT

members lit off flash bang devices but the man remained indoors.  Shortly after 2 a.m., deputies were able to gain access inside

of the home where they located the armed man. A spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff's Office says the man was taken into custody

without further incident. He will be booked at the Pierce County Jail.
