SEATTLE - Seattle police arson investigators and Seattle fire marshals are investigating a fire that consumed the porch of a home in the Roosevelt neighborhood early Tuesday.
Police said a man called 911 shortly after 2 a.m. when smoke began wafting through a bedroom on the second floor of his home in the 800 block of Northeast 72nd Street.
Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire, which had consumed much of the home’s front porch. It also scorched the basement and attic and damaged the siding of the neighboring house.
Fire investigators believe the fire started on the front porch and spread from there.
Anyone with information that could help detectives in their investigation is asked to call the SPD Arson/Bomb Unit at 206-684-8980.
