Police say man rammed officer's cruiser with stolen car

GRANITE FALLS, Wash. — Police are searching for a man who rammed a stolen car into a police cruiser and then took off running.

Granite Falls police said the incident happened just before 9 p.m. Monday when an officer attempted to pull over the driver of a stolen vehicle.

Instead of pulling over, the driver  took off, leading officers on a chase onto Highway 92, police said.

The driver then rammed the officer's cruiser and in the process, rolled the stolen vehicle he was driving on Getchell Road.

Police detained a female passenger inside the stolen vehicle, but the driver escaped and ran from the scene.

The officer involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

Police continue to search for the driver, but could not provide a description of him at the time of the crash.
