Surveillance video shows convenience store shootout

Surveillance video from inside a Spanaway convenience store showed an armed robbery turned into a shootout when clerk Seul Lim fired at the man holding up her family's store.
 
The video shows Lim being held at gunpoint at the Pacific Quick Mart on Tuesday when she fires at the robber,  missing him. He fires back striking Lim in the abdomen.
 
"She's tough, she's a tough cookie, yeah," said Lim's husband Min Kim.

Kim said his wife is home and recovering just one day after the hold up. The bullet passed through her body without striking any vital organs.
 
"She's doing fine," said Lim. "She only stayed a couple hours in hospital yesterday and she went back home."
 
Tyrone Prophet, 23, is the shooter seen in the video, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Office investigators.
   
Shortly after the Tuesday afternoon hold-up, Prophet was arrested along with a woman described as his girlfriend.
 
Surveillance video  from a gas station in Tacoma shows Prophet as he was surrounded by deputies. A child was with the couple. Investigators say it appears the three were homeless and living off proceeds from several robberies.

“We believe this is how he supported them,” said Pierce County sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer. “Whatever the habits were or how they were eating or living was being done by committing armed robberies.”

Prophet was charged with attempted robbery and first degree assault. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $1 million bail. The woman arrested with him was not charged, but the investigation into her role in the robbery is ongoing.

The child with the couple is in the custody of child protective services.
