Supplies from Safeway semi-truck crash donated to food bank

CHIMACUM, Wash. — Food recovered from a semi-truck crash in Jefferson County has been donated to a local food bank.

The semi that was hauling a Safeway trailer full of food tipped over Monday near Chimacum.

The Peninsula Daily News reports food that was not damaged was given to the Auburn Food Bank.

State troopers say the semi driver fell asleep.    He was not hurt and was cited for negligent driving.
