Storm blows down tree, killing hunter from Seattle

NEHALEM, Ore. — An elk hunter from Seattle was killed when storm winds blew a tree down onto his tent.

Nathan Christensen, 52, was hunting near Nehalem on Oregon's northwest coast Monday.

Two hunters in a nearby camp heard the tree snap as winds reached more than 70 miles an hour.

They tried to cut the tree away to rescue Christensen, but couldn't save him.
