Suspect in kidnappings at large after standoff with police

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A SWAT standoff with an armed and dangerous suspect which began Tuesday night continued into Wednesday morning but ended without the suspect in custody.

Nicholas Loredo was believed to be in a home on NE 131st Ave. between 71st and 72nd streets in Vancouver, Wash.

Loredo is a suspect in the kidnapping, robbery and assault of two adults and a teen at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Detectives say Laredo knew his victims.

All three are safe and suffered only minor injuries in the attack.

KOIN reported that police took a man and woman at the home into custody but their relationship to Loredo is not known.

Loredo is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 178 pounds with a red Mohawk. He has brown eyes, a goatee and tattoos on his neck. He was last seen driving a green 2003 Ford Ranger pickup with Oregon license plate ZKR-453.  The front plate is missing.
