SR 99, Mercer Street reopen early after weekend construction

SEATTLE — Officials with the Seattle Department of Transportation announced Sunday that State Route 99 and Mercer Street between Fifth Avenue North and Dexter Avenue North have reopened after being closed for weekend construction work.

The construction is part of the West Phase of the Mercer Corridor Project.

The closures started Friday at midnight and were scheduled to reopen Monday at 5 a.m.

Officials with the Seattle Department of Transportation said crews demolished the east side of the SR 99 bridge over Mercer Street.
