SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. - A 23-year-old woman was killed and one person was injured Wednesday night in a three-vehicle collision east of Arlington, said officials with the Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened before 6:30 p.m. on State Route 530 at milepost 23.8.
According to the State Patrol, a 1998 Ford Explorer was traveling weston SR 530 when it struck a 2000 Chevrolet Metro from behind. The Chevrolet was stopped and waiting to turn left into a private driveway.
When the Chevrolet was hit, it was pushed into oncoming traffic and was struck by a Freightliner tow truck eastbound on SR 530.
The driver of the Chevrolet Metro died at the scene, and the driver of the Ford Explorer was injured and taken to Cascade Hospital.
The driver of the tow truck was not hurt.
Authorities will continue to investigate the crash.
