Spencer Ware arrested for DUI after being cut by Seahawks

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Spencer Ware was arrested early Tuesday for investigation of driving under the influence.

Jail records show Ware was booked into the Kent city jail at 3:21 a.m. Ware has not been charged. The case has been referred to the Maple Valley prosecutor’s office.

Ware was waived on Saturday when the roster was trimmed to 53. He played two games for the Hawks in 2013 after skipping his final year of eligibility at Louisiana State University to enter the NFL draft.

This is Ware’s second DUI arrest this year. The earlier case happened the morning of Jan. 12 after the State Patrol said he was driving drunk on First Avenue and Bell Street. Ware was on the Seahawks injured reserve list at the time.

But Ware was not convicted – the case was dismissed in July. A judge suppressed evidence gathered after the stop, including Ware’s blood test, after the judge determined the trooper who pulled Ware over did not have reasonable suspicion for the stop.

Ware is expected to be in Maple Valley Municipal Court for the current case Sept. 8.
