SEATTLE —

A Seattle Police South Precinct officer was seriously injured after his marked patrol car collided with a power pole and several parked cars early Saturday morning.

The crash happened at about 1:20 a.m. on Rainier Avenue South near South Garden Street.

Police said an officer hit a pole and the impact of the crash sheared the pole off at the base.  The officer's patrol car then struck three parked, unoccupied cars before coming to a rest against a tree.
