WSP searches for driver who struck, killed bicyclist

EATONVILLE, Wash. — Washington State Patrol troopers said they are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a bicyclist on northbound State Route 7 Thursday morning.

The woman’s body was found 300 feet from the 320th Street intersection near the highway, and officials believe she was hit between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.

Troopers said someone saw the bike knocked over on the side of the roadway and went to check it out, and saw the body just yards from the bike.

The investigation has caused a traffic backup and drivers are getting by in the southbound lane.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to give Washington State Patrol a call.
