Protesters to form human chain for education funding

Another rally for education funding on January 16. 2017.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Hundreds of people plan to link arms at the State Capitol Monday to send a message about education.

They will create a human chain spanning from the Legislature to the Temple of Justice starting at 11 a.m. to prompt lawmakers to fully fund that state’s education without cutting funding to other important services.

The human chain will be preceded by a rally that will include about two-dozen organizations and community advocates on the Capitol steps at 10 a.m.

In 2012, the state supreme court ruled the state was failing to fund education.

Lawmakers still haven't passed a solution.
