Man injured while trying to stop fleeing suspect

LACEY, Wash. — Police are investigating after a man was injured while trying to stop a suspect who was attempt to flee a scene Tuseday afternoon in Lacey.

Police tell KIRO 7 a suspect driving a van made a wide turn, went into coming traffic and hit a Nissan that went into a ditch.

The suspect tried to drive away but ended up in a ditch on the other side of the road.

According to police, a man in his 60s stopped to help after seeing the first crash.  The man tried to stop the suspect from driving away but was dragged.

The suspect then went into the ditch a third time and got stuck.

Police said witnesses led deputies to the suspect.

The victim was taken to a hospital and has serious injuries.
