LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Authorities say a 16-year-old boy suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound after trying to rob someone during a marijuana deal in Lakewood.

that the teen was taken to a hospital after the Friday incident and underwent surgery for a fractured pelvis, fractured femur and damaged femoral artery. He's now being held on suspicion of first-degree robbery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Court documents say the teen and his friend had set up a drug deal, during which the teen showed a handgun after the friend stole marijuana from the dealer. Documents say the weapon fired as the teen went to put the gun back in his pants.

Two people believed to be the teen's accomplices were arraigned Monday on first-degree robbery charges.
