Buffalo Soldiers Veterans Day Appreciation Program
What: Program includes guest speaker Lourdes E. Alvarado-Ramos, director of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs.
When: Meet and greet at 5 p.m.; program from 6-8 p.m., with a social gathering following the program.

Northwest Trek and Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium Veterans Appreciation Days
What: U.S. military members and veterans admitted free with proof of service (military ID, discharge papers, etc.); half-off general admission for immediate family members.
When: Nov. 10, 11, 12.

Lakewood Veterans Day Remembrance
What: Recognition of the 100th anniversary of the United States entering WWI and the 100th anniversary of the opening of Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Speakers include U.S. Rep. Denny Heck and others.

Washington Soldiers Home Veterans Day Observance
When: 2 p.m.
Where: Chilson Hall, Orting Veterans Home, 1301 Orting-Kapowsin Highway.
Auburn Veterans Day Parade
When: 11 a.m.
Where: East Main Street in downtown Auburn.
Thurston County Veterans Council Observance
When: Music at 10:30 a.m. followed by program at 11 a.m.
Where: Capitol Rotunda in Olympia.
Veterans Employee Resource Group Observance
When: 8:30 a.m.
Where: Winged Victory Memorial on the Capitol Campus, Olympia.
Tahoma National Cemetery Ceremony
What: Program includes remarks from Korean War veteran and former Enumclaw Mayor George John Rossman.
When: 11 a.m.

When: Noon.

Puyallup VFW Veterans Day Observance
When: 1 p.m.

Washington State History Museum
What: “Washington at War — The Evergreen State in WWII,” featuring renowned Northwest historian, Lorraine McConaghy. Free for veterans, active-duty military and families, with ID.
