LAKEWOOD, Wash. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car on northbound I-5 near Lakewood Friday.
The crash scene is near the Berkeley exit and Joint Base Lewis-McChord and is causing long backups.
The State Patrol says the motorcycle struck the rear of another vehicle. The driver could not be revived.
West Pierce Fire said I-5 was slow in both directions through Lakewood because of multiple crashes.
The State Patrol said three northbound and one southbound lane were closed.
As of 1:42 p.m., only the left lane of northbound I-5 remained blocked, but delays remained.
