Dog hurt by porcupine, sheriff deputies help take dog to vet

"This poor dog did not win the argument with the porcupine," Mason County Sheriff's deputies wrote. "The quills were removed and he is available for adoption."

A dog in Mason County had an unfortunate run-in with a porcupine.

A photo showing the dog with dozens of quills on his face and neck was posted to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page and Twitter account.

“This poor dog did not win the argument with the porcupine,” the caption read. “The quills were removed and he is available for adoption.”

He is available at Adopt-A-Pet at 940 E Jensen Road in Shelton. Their phone number is 360-432-3091.

A UPS driver saw the dog and contacted sheriff's deputies. They aren't sure what his name is.
