Do you recognize this Spanaway bank robber?

SPANAWAY, Wash. — Pierce County Sheriff's detectives want to identify a man who robbed a bank in Spanaway earlier this month.

On Monday, March 6, a man robbed the Umpqua Bank located in the 16100 block of Pacific Ave. S. at 9:50 a.m.

The man entered the bank and approached the bank counter. When he was told to remove his hat and scarf, he gave the teller a note demanding cash. He then took the money and walked out of the bank.

The man is described as white, in his late 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a heavy build and a thin auburn mustache.  He spoke with a raspy voice and was missing several of his upper teeth.

He was wearing a black jacket with dark gray sleeves, a black beanie cap, black gloves, a black scarf, and was carrying a dark orange or red backpack.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to private message or call Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County at 1-800-222-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous.
