ABERDEEN, Wash — An Aberdeen resident told police they spotted a cougar Friday morning on a hill in the area of Terrace Avenue, police said.
Law enforcement said the caller told them the cougar appeared to be the size of a medium to large dog.
When officers checked the area near a high school, they were unable to locate the wild animal, officials said.
Schools in the area were notified.

Sederbaum, 31, was taken to Harborview for treatment of serious injuries.
"He said he had his whole entire head in the jaws of this animal and was being shaken around very, very horribly," Capt. Alan Myers, of the State Department of Fish and Wildlife, said.
When responders found Brooks, the mountain lion was still standing over his body.
