GIG HARBOR, Wash. — Gig Harbor’s Table 47 is taking shape. It’s also hiring.
The 300-seat restaurant expects to open later this year in November.
The restaurant says it plans on creating 200 jobs.
Table 47 is part of the Olympic Towne Center, home of the new Fred Meyer.
The restaurant is from Troy Alstead, a longtime Gig Harbor resident who formerly was the chief operating officer at Starbucks.
It’s named after its location along the 47th parallel. The focus will be on upscale cuisine and responsibly sourced ingredients with a seasonal focus. All food will be free of preservatives and artificial flavors.
As Alstead told the News Tribune last year, “I grew up in the Puget Sound region and always have loved the mountains and beaches. I backpack in the Olympics and Cascades, scuba dive in the Sound, and at every opportunity enjoy this place around us.
“We have a responsibility to ensure that all this will still be around to be enjoyed by future generations.”
The chef will be Ian Wingate, formerly of Spokane restaurants Agave Latin Bistro and Moxie, among others. His most recent job was as executive chef of Spokane’s Davenport Grand.
The restaurant also will house a coffee cafe and bar. It will seat 200 inside and another 100 on a seasonal, heated patio. There also is a private-event space. The food will be upscale, while the dining experience is described by the restaurant as “a comfortable social gathering place.”
