• Snow closes moutain passes, causes long backups

Heavy snow and dangerous driving conditions closed Interstaet 90 and U.S. 2 over the Cascades early Monday, but it reopened about 11:40 a.m.

Stevens Pass is open, but drivers are required to have chains on all vehicles except those with all-wheel drive. Oversized vehicles are not allowed.

A mudslide is blocking a major road into and out of Pacific in King County. King County sheriff's deputies say an unoccupied car was swept up in the slide, but no one was hurt.

In Puyallup, the 900 block of 14th Street SW is flooded, along with some nearby homes.
