Small plane lands after report of landing gear trouble

SEATTLE — A small plane whose pilot reported possible landing gear trouble landed safely at Boeing Field Wednesday afternoon.

The pilot told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Gary Horcher that an indicator showed the landing gear was not locked into place.  The pilot said sometimes the gauge is not correct, but there's no way to tell since the gear is under the plane.

The Kenmore Air twin-engine Piper Chieftain with six aboard did a low fly-by with its landing gear down, video from Chopper 7 showed.

There was no sign of trouble, and it came back and landed at about 3:20 p.m. without incident.
