Sinister man seen on camera in baton attack at ATM


Near RENTON, Wash. - A camera at an ATM near Renton captured the image of a man holding a collapsible baton used to hit a woman during an attempt to get her PIN.


The attack occurred Sunday at 7 a.m.   The woman was at the BECU ATM in the 14400 block of Southeast Petrovitsky Road making a deposit when she was approached from behind by a man.


   The man asked the victim for her PIN.  When the victim turned around to face him, he struck her in the head with a collapsible baton.


The man again asked for her PIN and struck the victim in the head with the baton once more.


The woman ran to her vehicle, but the attacker ran after her and broke her driver’s side window with the baton as she was trying to drive away in her car.


 The man fled in a vehicle described as a flat black (not shiny), possibly 1990s BMW with matching moldings and dark-tinted windows.   At the time of the attack, the car did not have a front license plate attached.  The car was described as well-maintained.


 The attacker is described as white, in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with light-colored hair and a thin nose.  He was wearing a black ski mask, black jacket and black gloves.   He had a collapsible baton and some type of holster on his right hip.
