Similar child luring incidents occur in Lacey, Olympia

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Police are investigating similar reports of child luring incidents in Olympia and Lacey.

Olympia police responded to a report that a child had been approached by a suspicious person on Olympia’s Westside last Friday afternoon.

The Jefferson Middle School student was walking on Conger Avenue near the school when a stranger pulled up beside her and offered her a ride to school.

The girl refused and the man drove away.  The girl’s parents notified police that evening.

Police said a similar incident recently occurred in Lacey.

In both cases, the suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with dark brown or black hair.  He was reportedly driving a small, white pickup that was possibly a Ford Ranger.

Both Lacey and Olympia police departments are investigating the reports.
