Shots fired into Roxhill apartment

SEATTLE — Seattle police said 18 rifle rounds were fired into an apartment in Seattle's Roxhill neighborhood early Tuesday morning. There were no injuries.

Just before 12:30 a.m., six people inside an apartment near 27th Avenue SW and SW Cambridge Street awoke to the sound of gunfire and breaking glass.

A witness who spoke with police said that just after the shooting, he saw two black men run from the scene, get into a car parked in the 2900 block of SW Cambridge Street and leave northbound with the car lights off. The witness did not see the men carrying a weapon. Officers searched the area but did not locate the men or their vehicle.

No one inside the apartment could provide police with an explanation about why someone would target their home.

Officers recovered 18 rifle casings from the street in front of the apartment. Several bullets and fragments were recovered from inside the apartment.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Seattle police.
