Gunshots shatter window on busy U-District Street

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after shots were fired on a busy street known as "The Ave"  in Seattle’s University District that shattered a window.

The gunshots were fired at 4300 University Way Northeast, the site of Crossroads Trading Company, around 2:15 p.m. Monday.

Seattle police said they stopped a suspect at East Lake Washington Boulevard and East Roanoke Street, but he was taken into custody near the entrance to the University of Washington at Northeast 45th Street and 17th Avenue Northeast, possibly after a short pursuit.

Video from Chopper 7 showed a struggling man being pulled from a black Audi and taken into custody.  Multiple police officers were at the scene.

Seattle police said the gunshots shattered a window at the business, but no one was hit by the gunfire.

Chopper video showed someone sweeping up glass outside the Crossroads Trading Company.
