ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Police said a dump truck hit a van and careened into a ditch after losing its brakes on State Route 18 in Issaquah.
Trooper Chris Webb said the truck was traveling westbound from Tiger Mountain Summit when it lost its brakes about 6:15 a.m. Monday.
The truck exited to Issaquah-Hobart Road and hit a van.
Both the truck and the van crashed into the guard rail and went into a ditch.
Webb said the driver of the truck was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
The drivers of both vehicles had non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash caused the closure of the road at westbound SR 18 until 7:45 a.m.
