Seattle schools issue district report card

SEATTLE — A report card is out on Seattle public schools performance, and it shows the district is not on target to reach its 2013 goals.

The annual report released Thursday by Seattle Public Schools Superintendent José Banda shows gains in several areas, including math.

67 percent of 4th and 7th graders passed the state's math exam, an improvement from 2008 when the district set its 23 goals for 2013.

The report also shows the district is still short of its goal of 80 percent of students graduating high school in four years.
