Seattle protesters skip pre-May Day events

SEATTLE — As organized and destructive as anarchists and other protesters seemed last May Day, things may be different this year.

KIRO 7 tried to catch up with anarchists and occupiers at planned events Saturday afternoon. Anarchists did not show up at their event.

About four Occupy Seattle members came to a planned protest outside the King County Juvenile Court. After about 45 minutes of waiting, KIRO 7 approached -- and those present left declaring: "I guess this isn't happening." No one outside the court wanted to talk.

The unorganized protest efforts Saturday stand in stark contrast to reports earlier in the week that FBI agents were actively approaching and questioning known protesters and anarchist-friendly hangouts in Seattle and Olympia.
