Seahawks fans travel for game against Falcons

ATLANTA — Fans traveled all the way to Atlanta to support the Seahawks in the NFC divisional playoff game against the Falcons.

More than a thousand fans packed a three-story sports bar in downtown Atlanta and turned the place into a sea of Seattle blue.

Fans told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Gary Horcher that they were ready for Sunday’s game.

“It was a last-minute deal! My brother-in-law calls me up, ‘Hey, let’s go to the game!’ We booked it all within a couple minutes. WE had to beg our wives to let us come down,” said Seahawks fan George Morfin.

Many Seahawks fans were welcomed when they arrived in Atlanta.

“The weather and the hot southern hospitality. Everybody here has been really, really nice. I mean, they’re trash talking a little bit, but for the most part everybody’s really nice,” said Jesus Reyna.

The Seahawks’ hotel was 25 miles away in Stone Mountain, and fans showed up to let players know they’re in Atlanta for support.

Fans told KIRO 7 game tickets were the easiest part of the trip.

“There’s like 6,000 tickets on Stub Hub, I guess,” said another fan, Anthony Ngyun.

"I was not expecting this many Seahawks fans to be here. I think we're definitely bringing that 12th Man spirit to Atlanta," said Rachel Kahn.

Seahawks fans told KIRO 7 they plan to have a very big tailgate for Sunday’s game.
