Seahawks fans gamble to win tickets

TUKWILA, Wash. — Hundreds of Seahawks fans lined up at the Southcenter Mall Monday for a chance to win tickets to the playoff game against New Orleans Saturday. Chris Wilson said, "My wife gave me approval to be here, so I'm all right."

The rules were simple for this contest set up by the Washington State Lottery. The first 1,500 people to pay $10 for a Monopoly Scratch Game ticket could also get entered into a drawing for 10 pairs of Seahawks tickets. There was no limit.

Dianne Ray bought 11 scratch game tickets and also got 11 entries into the football drawing. She told us, "I was gonna buy 10, but then I thought I'll buy one more because it will probably be the one that wins." Many said this was their only chance to get a seat at the sold-out game.

Ticket resellers were charging hundreds of dollars online. Keith Carlson waited six hours to buy his scratch tickets and enter the ticket drawing. He said, "As I see it, I don't care, I'll wait however long I need to, do whatever I've got to do. If I can get some tickets, I'll take a chance at it."

Each of the 10 Seahawks game packages will include two game tickets, an overnight hotel stay, one parking pass and a $100 pro shop gift card.
