SEATTLE - Preparations for Saturday evening’s Seafair Torchlight Parade are close to being finished.
Crews started assembling risers Saturday morning for spectators who have bought tickets for a grand view, and hundreds of thousands of people are expected to watch along 4th Avenue.
The parade is now in its 63rd year. It will start in Seattle Center and go along 4th Avenue throughout downtown Seattle.
Some spectators have already set up their chairs early Saturday morning to save their spots for a great view of the parade.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Bob Robuck spoke with a parade attendee who has been going to the parade for years. “I’ve been coming here for 12 years, sitting in this spot. I am raising two kids after my own children, and so this has been an activity that we can do every year."
Tune into KIRO 7 Eyewitness News at 5 p.m. for details on what to expect during the parade.
Viewers can watch the parade on KIRO 7 and it will be streamed live on kirotv.com.
The pre-parade show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the parade will start at 8 p.m.
