Report shows dirtiest, cleanest beaches in U.S.

An annual report on the water quality at US beaches is out, and it's not pretty.

The Natural Resources Defense Council says seashores continue to suffer from storm water runoff and sewage pollution.

The group just released its list of America's cleanest and dirtiest beaches.

Two California beaches -- Avalon Beach in Los Angeles County and Doheny State Beach in Orange County -- made the groups list of repeat offenders.

No Washington beaches were on that list.

Among the cleanest beaches receiving a 5-star rating were California's Newport Beach, Alabama's Gulf Shores Beach and Texas's South Padre Island.

None of our beaches made the 5-star list, either.
