Report: Seattle-area housing values see big year-over-year change

Seattle-area home values rose 15.3 percent year-over-year in July, according to statistics released Wednesday by Zillow.

That number exceeds the national increase of 6 percent over the same period.

In King County, the median home value is $368,500, and the median Pierce County home value is $209,600 – an increase of 9.9 percent year-over-year, according to Zillow.

The average home value is Snohomish County is 286,200, an increase of 21.6 percent, Zillow reported.

The company listed the average rent for a Seattle-area studio unit as $1,271 and a five-bedroom property as $2,041.
