SEATTLE —

A man’s house will need some major repair work done after an explosion occurred while he was extracting THC from marijuana, Seattle police said.

Police and firefighters were called to a report of an explosion in the 3000 block of Northeast 135th Street in Lake City about 9:30 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, a 37-year-old man told investigators that his refrigerator had exploded.

Officers said they suspected that the explosion happened while he had been extracting the THC from marijuana.  Police said the man confirmed their suspicions.

The explosion broke four windows and moved the back wall of the house three inches.

Detectives from the arson/bomb squad took over the investigation.
