PACIFIC, Wash. - Residents of Pacific are stepping up the effort to oust their mayor after months of turmoil at City Hall.
The Committee to Recall Mayor Cy Sun will file an official letter of complaint on Thursday, kick-starting the recall process.
The complaint letter accuses Sun of creating a hostile work environment and jeopardizing the city, by firing nearly all of Pacific's Department heads and pushing others to quit.
Sun was arrested by two of the city's police officers for allegedly trying to break into a sealed records room. In retaliation, he fired the arresting officers.
The recall petition will be filed with the King County Elections Office. Then, it will be forwarded to the County Prosecutor and a judge to determine whether the accusations are worthy of a recall.
After that, signatures would have to be gathered to get a recall vote.
