Police: Woman, man shot in Rainier Valley

SEATTLE — Two people were shot early Sunday morning in the Rainier Valley, said police.

After 1 a.m., police responded to the 7300 block of Rainier Avenue South to a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a woman on the ground with a gunshot wound in her leg and a man with a gunshot wound in his foot.

The two people were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, it appeared that a small, green four-door sedan pulled next to the two people and fired three shots at them before driving southbound on Rainier Avenue South. The occupants in the vehicle could not be described and words were not exchanged during the incident.

Police searched the area for additional information, but none was gathered.

The incident remains as an ongoing investigation.
