Police in standoff with armed man in Monroe

MONROE, Wash. — Monroe police and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are working to get a man out of a house who is armed with a gun.

The man called a crisis line from a home at the corner of 160th Street and 179th Avenue in Monroe Wednesday morning.

He fired a shot to prove he had a gun, authorities told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.  Nobody was hurt.

A SWAT team is responding and police are surrounding the home.
