• Police shoot suspect in Federal Way shooting

    FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - SWAT team members shot a murder suspect Friday night in Federal Way.

    They say the 35-year-old Renton man was wanted for shooting a teenager Thursday night after a drug deal.

    Detectives spent 24 hours working to identify the shooter. Members of the Valley Swat Team spotted the murder suspect in the parking lot of the Chipotle Restaurant in the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South. The commanded him to stop, they say he ran instead and tried to get to his vehicle. They shot him. 

    Christopher Stubblefield was working inside Chipotle when he saw police swarm the area.

     “I happened to hear the bang and I look up. I look up and see the smoke and see the cops coming out the the guy,” described Stubblefield.

    Police say he is expected to survive the shooting.

    The 18-year-old shot Thursday night was dropped off at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way with gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.

    There are two investigations underway—one for the murder, the other for the officer involved shooting.
