SEATTLE —

Police are searching for a man who they said tried to set fire to his ex-girlfriend's duplex in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood overnight.

No one was injured, and firefighters limited damage to the outside of the building.

The fire started at the house in the 1100 block of Yakima Avenue South around 4 a.m. Police said officers had responded to the same location overnight for a domestic dispute.

Police said the man involved in the earlier dispute returned to the home and tried to set fire to it. Firefighters were able to put out the fire within 15 minutes.

Flames were visible from the roof and front door of the four-plex, but all occupants of the home were able to get out safely.  Damage was contained to the eaves.

Police with a K-9 searched for the man, who is in his 20s and whose name is known to police.

Police and firefighters were collecting evidence at the scene, said KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Dubois.
