Police searching for man accused of raping 3-year-old girl

OTHELLO, Wash. — Othello Police are searching for an accused child rapist who failed to appear for court after being released on bail.

They are asking the public to help.

Juan Hernandez Zuniga was arrested for rape of a child in the first degree and booked into the Adams County Jail in Nov. 2015. Zuniga was later released on bail.

The victim is a 3-year-old girl, Othello Police say. The incident allegedly occurred in Zuniga's home.

Zuniga failed to appear for court on March 22, authorities say.

He is believed to be in California and possibly en route to Mexico.

Zuniga has brown eyes, is roughly 5'6" and weighs about 180 pounds, police report.

His route is unknown. There is no vehicle description available. Border Patrol has been notified and is investigating.
