Police: Carjacker stole Mustang, can't drive stick

SEATTLE — Police are searching for a man who stole a woman’s 1998 Ford Mustang from her at gunpoint -- and then left it in a Wendy’s parking lot.

The woman had just pulled into a Wendy’s along Rainier Avenue South Thursday night, when the man came up to her and asked for directions.

He opened her car door and forced her to get out, at gun-point.

According to police, the woman -- who was pulled out of the car by the suspect and had fallen to the ground -- ran into the restaurant and called 911.

Officers hypothesize the carjacker could not drive stick -- because when they arrived, the Mustang with manual transmission was still in the same Wendy’s parking lot.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, skinny, and last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Officers say he may have fled the scene in a gold minivan.
