SEATTLE —

Officers were assaulted while breaking up a fight during a baptism celebration at a community center late Saturday night, Seattle police said.

Police responded to the South Park Community Center after a report of a disturbance just before midnight.

When the officers arrived, they tried breaking up a fight between people at the celebration. Back up was called to assist.

According to police, five officers were assaulted and two had minor injuries.

The community center was evacuated and the crowd left.

Two people were arrested and booked into the King County Jail for assault.

Police said abundant alcohol consumption led up to the fight.
