Police: Man tries to lure 13-year-old girl in Kent

Kent police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted luring of a 13-year-old girl. This is the sketch.
KENT, Wash. —

Kent police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted luring of a 13-year-old girl.

Police said the teen was walking on Canyon Road between the 9400 and 10100 blocks of Southeast  on Aug. 4 at 9:15 p.m.

According to police an unknown man drove past the girl and offered her a ride but she declined.

The man then drove away as the girl kept walking.

Police said a short time later  the girl noticed the man in the car had started following her on foot and tried to talk to her. The girl tried to ignore the man and ran. The man ran after the girl, trirying to catch up, but the girl got away from him. She was able to get help from a person nearby.

When the man saw the person and teen together he fled the area.

Police described the man as Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing between 150 to 170 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes.
